CNS Team
The CNS Team is responsible for all research activities carried out by the Innovation Department in the area of central nervous system disorders. The Team’s tasks include the selection of clinical indications and biological targets, designing new chemical molecules with therapeutic potential, and providing broad in vitro and in vivo pharmacological characteristics.
In addition to the Team’s core composed of Adamed employees, these tasks are also performed by a group of collaborating investigators from leading Polish scientific centres, including the Jagiellonian University Collegium Medicum and the Institute of Psychiatry and Neurology in Warsaw. Having access to both the Innovation Department’s laboratories and the laboratories of collaborating research centres, the Team enjoys access to state-of-the-art research techniques, including molecular modelling, chemical synthesis, advanced techniques for studying interactions with biological targets, and varied animal models of neuropsychiatric disorders. The Team’s research interests focus on identifying drug candidates for the treatment of behavioural disorders in dementia, mainly resulting from Alzheimer’s disease.
