Who is a Personal Data Controller?
Pursuant to the definition specified in the General Data Processing Regulation (GDPR) of 27 April 2016, personal data controller means an entity which, alone or jointly with others, determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.

What is the purpose of data processing and how long will personal data be processed?
Personal data of the persons using the Website or contacting the Controller via the Website (including the IP address or other identifiers and information collected via cookies or other similar technology) are processed by the Controller:
- for the purpose of communicating with the User in relation to your message sent via the email address given on the Website, by phone or a contact form (if available on the Website), pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) of the GDPR, that is, for the purposes of the legitimate interests pursued by the Controller, in this case communication with a person who has initiated contact with the Controller;
- in order to electronically provide the services of making the Website content available to Users – the legal basis for such processing is the necessity of processing to perform the contract (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR);
- for analytical and statistical purposes – the legal basis for such processing is the Controller's legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in analyzing Users’ activity and preferences in order to improve the functionalities used and the services provided;
- in order to establish and pursue or defend claims, if any – the legal basis for such processing is the Controller’s legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in protecting its rights;
In order to carry out marketing activities, in some cases the Controller uses profiling. This means that through automatic data processing, the Controller assesses selected factors related to the Users in order to analyze their behaviors or to design future forecasts. This enables better matching of the displayed content to the individual preferences and interests of the User.
The duration of data processing by the Controller depends on the type of service provided and the purpose of processing. As a rule, the data is processed for the duration of the service, until the consent is withdrawn or an effective objection to data processing is raised in those instances where the legal basis for data processing is the Controller's legitimate interest.
The duration of data processing may be extended if the processing is necessary to establish and pursue or defend any claims, and afterwards, only if and to the extent required by law. After the lapse of the processing period, the data is irreversibly erased or anonymized.

Who is a Data Protection Officer and who can contact them?
Adamed Pharma S.A. has appointed a Data Protection Officer pursuant to Article 37 of the GDPR. The Data Protection Officer is responsible for ensuring that the rights and freedoms of the data subjects whose data are processed by the Controller are protected.
Any data subject whose data are processed by the Controller can contact the Data Protection Officer with regard to any matter related to their personal data.
What is the scope of responsibilities of the Data Protection Officer?
The Data Protection Officer verifies the proper processing of personal data. Among other responsibilities, the Data Protection Officer is also a contact person for any and all notifications related to potential irregularities in personal data processing. Therefore, you can contact the Data Protection Officer if you believe that your personal data have been breached by the Controller. The Data Protection Officer is also a competent body to receive requests regarding exercise of your rights.
These rights include, in particular:
- the right of access to personal data,
- the right to rectification,
- the right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”),
- the right to restriction of processing,
- the right of data portability,
- the right to object to further processing,
- the right to object to automated individual decision-making, including profiling,
- the right to notification of a personal data breach.
How will a request regarding exercise of your rights be examined?
A request can be submitted through an employee of the Controller or directly to the Data Protection Officer. The Controller will examine such a request without delay. If the time required to examine such request is longer than one month, you will receive a separate letter informing you that the time to reply has been extended. Such extension is possible given the complexity of the request or the number of submitted requests. If your request does not allow for your unambiguous identification or is unclear, the Data Protection Officer will ask you to supplement it within one month of receipt of the request. If the request has been submitted via electronic means, further correspondence will also be carried out electronically if possible. Otherwise you will be notified of the outcome of the examination of your request in writing, by registered mail with acknowledgement of receipt. Requests are examined free of charge. However, if a request is not justified or is often repeated, the Data Controller may a) impose a justified fee taking into account reasonable administrative costs related to examination of the request, communication or the conduct of requested operations or b) refuse to examine the request.
