Adamed Pharma Named the Best Employer in the Pharmaceutical Industry!
Adamed Pharma was ranked first among employers in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry in the prestigious Forbes Polska ranking: Poland’s Best Employers 2023. Editors of the magazine prepared the ranking together with the international research institute Statista. The survey covered around 1,900 top employers in 25 industries with at least 250 employees.
Adamed ranked 1st in the Pharmaceuticals and Biotechnology category and 19th in the full ranking out of 300 companies.
Winners of the third edition of the Forbes Polska ranking were selected based on an analysis of questionnaires filled out by employees of large companies that took part in the survey. The title is awarded on the basis of an opinion poll conducted by the international research institute Statista, which has been publishing rankings of the best employers around the world for many years.
The past year was extremely difficult. Following a wave of pandemic-related problems, employers in all industries are facing record high inflation and higher costs of doing business. For a pharmaceutical company, the time brought additional challenges. Responsibility for the lives and health of patients, which lies at the heart of Adamed Pharma’s mission, is an additional factor that influences the commitment of Adamed associates. It is this responsibility and sense of mission that create a unique working environment. Despite the macroeconomic challenges facing today’s economy, Adamed has not stopped investing in the development of its most valuable assets – associates, infrastructure facilities and research and development projects. Since 2001, the company has invested nearly 2.1 billion zlotys in its R&D infrastructure and activities.
“The world as we knew it just five years ago no longer exists. The COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and awareness of the challenges related to climate change make it necessary for us to rethink our previous strategies. In order to seek innovative solutions and implement bold decisions, we need people who have curiosity about the world as well as a sense of commitment and responsibility. People who have a founder’s mentality and care about our company’s growth. I am proud that it is people like this who make up Adamed,” says Małgorzata Adamkiewicz, MD, PhD, Co-owner and Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Adamed Pharma.
Adamed was established thanks to the founder’s passion for medicine and desire to solve unsolved medical problems in response to patients’ needs. The company grew through its own thinking and patents. Since its inception, Adamed Pharma’s mission has been to respond to the key challenges of contemporary medicine. To make it happen, the owners, from the very beginning, delegated responsibility and decision-making to associates in the spirit of the founder’s mentality. Adamed is made up of people who, through their passion and commitment, effectively influence the company’s development and at the same time develop themselves along with its dynamic growth. An OHI survey conducted by McKinsey at Adamed showed that associates displayed a very high level of responsibility at 83%.
“A friendly, safe and engaging work environment is particularly important to us. With a view to ensuring comfort in and out of work, we have a wide range of benefits tailored to different groups of associates. Due to high public health awareness, we encourage our associates to take advantage of free preventive campaigns and the ‘HIGH FIVE TO HEALTH’ [ZDROWIE NA 5] programme. With this approach, we are building a committed, strong and healthy team,” says Tomasz Krzak, Director of People, Culture and Organisation Development, Adamed Pharma.
Adamed offers access to state-of-the-art technologies and tools to all its associates. The company cares about development and training opportunities. Adamed makes every effort to create opportunities for individual development, tailored to interests and skills as part of individual development plans prepared annually. The best associates have the opportunity to take part in courses and training at international universities, such as London Business School, Insead, or Stanford University. Keeping in mind the different needs of each associate, we enable them to independently choose the benefits they are interested in. Business-related talent programmes are launched in the company, where members of the management team are involved in knowledge sharing. What sets Adamed apart is the impact and decision-making within the projects that associate lead. At Adamed Pharma, care is taken to periodically share information with associates on challenges, sales performance and the level of implementation of key strategic projects in quarterly management meetings. And most importantly, feedback and implementation of specific measures are always key within the organisation.
“For Adamed, the first place in the pharmaceuticals and biotechnology segment is an honour that speaks for itself. It is the best proof that we are headed in the right direction, investing in people and developing their potential and capabilities,” adds Tomasz Krzak, Director of People, Culture and Organisation Development, Adamed Pharma.
