Adamed Pharma named one of ten “National Champions” in the Polityka Insight ranking

In the latest edition of the Polityka Insight report, which was issued on 10 March, analysts reviewed how National Champions take care of Poland’s security. The fact that the region faces significant geopolitical changes associated with the ongoing war in Ukraine, growing tensions between China and the USA, and the dynamic Taiwan situation make it necessary to urgently strengthen the pillars of Poland’s security, not only in the military aspect, but also in terms of energy, health, food and digital security. The report indicates that National Champions play an important role in this matter, and this includes Adamed Pharma as the responsible drug security partner of Poland.

The report ranks Polish Champions based on the original National Champions (NC) index. The NC index is calculated from each company’s average score in four key categories: economy, industry, foreign market presence, and innovation. These calculations led to distinguishing 40 Polish companies that can be considered Champions in the following four categories: International Champions, National Champions, Aspiring National Champions and Local Champions. 

In the general classification, Adamed Pharma occupied the 9th place, while in the Innovation category, it reached the 4th place.

The factor that significantly contributed to the Adamed’s position in this year’s ranking was prioritizing drug security by:

• significant investment in Research & Development – approximately PLN 140 million last year;
• opening the Pilot Plant in Pabienice in 2018;
• entering into exclusive global licensing agreement with Acadia Pharmaceuticals in 2020 to perform research and development activities regarding an innovative molecule with its potential use in psychiatry;
• purchasing facilities with laboratory infrastructure in Kajetany as part of the New Drug Discovery strategy, which will allow the company to develop the production of Polish generic drugs and help intensify the development of innovative drugs (including mRNA-based drugs);
• closely cooperating with scientific circles and receiving grant support from the Medical Research Agency.
