ADAMED SmartUP discovers DNA secrets

On the occasion of the 100th anniversary of restoring the tradition of the Warsaw University of Technology, on 15 and 16 May, its Main Campus became the site of the Educational Picnic titled From Micro to Macro. The partners of that event included representatives of the ADAMED SmartUP scientific and educational programme, who had prepared a number of presentations related to the Let’s Discover the Secrets of DNA slogan.

On the first day, Takao Ishikawa, PhD, a lecturer at ADAMED SmartUP, gave a lecture about issues related to the structure of DNA, reading the genetic code and its lawful applications. The lecture was attended by students from Warsaw’s high and middle schools.

On Saturday, 16 May, a science fair, hosting an ADAMED SmartUP stand, was held in front of the Warsaw University of Technology Main Building. Its guests were able to use a DNA isolation set for cells taken from cheeks. After securing their genetic material, participants could close their DNA in a special necklace and take it home. ADAMED SmartUP’s stand attracted lots of younger and older science fans throughout the whole day.
