“Supportive School” Programme Awarded in the “ESG Innovator 2023” Competition
The “Supportive School” programme, which is being implemented in cooperation with the Adamed Foundation, was awarded in the “ESG Innovator 2023” competition in the “S” category: Innovation in the Social Area. Adamed Pharma is a partner of the programme.
The “ESG Innovator 2023” competition aims to recognise projects, organisations and companies that are actively contributing to creating a more sustainable and ethical business. This year, the organisers reported a record number of submitted projects. In total, in four categories, as many as 141 projects were submitted for the competition. In the “S” category (Innovation in the Social Area), the competition’s jury awarded the “Supportive School” programme.
Adamed Pharma, as a partner in the project along with the Adamed Foundation, has partnered with leading mental health experts who are contributors to the “Życie warte jest rozmowy” (Life is Worth Talking About) site. Thanks to this partnership, the Adamed Foundation launched the award-winning “Supportive School” pilot project at the beginning of the 2023/2024 school year.
“The ‘Supportive School’ programme is a priority for us as part of Adamed Pharma’s ESG activities in the “S” area. The goal of the programme is to prevent suicidal behaviour as well as to provide knowledge to teachers, parents and the peer group. The programme teaches the participants about the best ways to support young people in crisis, where to look for assistance and how to provide it. At Adamed Pharma, we use a broad and comprehensive definition of responsibility. We take a holistic approach to health, which is why, together with subject matter experts, we created the “Supportive School” programme to effectively support students and their immediate environment in the area of mental health,” said Agnieszka Rejer-Mellin, Head of the External Communication and Social Engagement Team, Adamed Pharma, receiving the award at the gala.
“Supportive School” is Poland’s first comprehensive programme aimed at preventing suicidal behaviours among children and adolescents. The programme is addressed to primary and secondary schools. Under the programme, teachers, educators, parents and students develop relevant knowledge and skills, and are provided with appropriate tools, for the care of the mental well-being of children and adolescents. Participation in and completion of the programme in its entirety culminates in awarding the “Supportive School” certificate. The initiative is implemented under the auspices of the Polish Psychiatric Society and the Polish Society of Suicidology.
The awards were presented at the ESG 2023 Innovators Gala, held on 7 December in Warsaw, Poland. The competition is organised by the Polish ESG Association.
