Second edition of ADAMED SmartUP program in Vietnam
Wednesday, October 28, saw the roll-out of the second edition of ADAMED SmartUP program in Vietnam. One hundred students from the Polish-Vietnamese Friendship High School in Hanoi selected for the program will take part in an intensive English language course with native speakers and in scientific workshops.
The ongoing edition is the second installment of ADAMED SmartUP program in Vietnam – the first country outside Poland where the Adamed Foundation holds its flagship program for students who are interested in exact and natural sciences. The recruitment for the program took place on November 11. Nearly 400 students of the Polish-Vietnamese Friendship High School sat the recruitment test. A total of 61 lucky winners will join the group of 39 participants selected during the first edition of the program. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they were unable to complete ADAMED SmartUP activities which commenced last year.
All students will participate in English classes with native speakers and workshops in the fields of environmental protection and engineering run by a Polish researcher, a lecturer at the Warsaw University of Life Sciences, who also cooperates with the Hanoi University. Next year, the three most gifted and committed students will join their Polish counterparts from the seventh edition of the program. Together, they will take part in ADAMED SmartUP summer science camp.
Cooperation with the Polish-Vietnamese Friendship High School is not limited only to the educational sphere. The launch of the second edition of ADAMED SmartUP program was accompanied by the donation of digital monitors and computers. The event was organized in collaboration with the Polish Embassy in Hanoi.
